2. Terms of Participation

2.1 Program Eligibility

By applying to and participating in the Leaders of Tomorrow program, you agree to:

  • Meet the age requirements (14-17 for Teens, 18-24 for Young Adults)
  • Demonstrate proficiency in English (speaking, writing, listening)
  • Commit 4-5 hours per week to program activities
  • Have reliable internet access
  • Not participate in other exchange programs during the summer session

2.2 Code of Conduct

All participants must adhere to our Code of Conduct:

  • Respect: Treat all participants, staff, and facilitators with respect and dignity
  • Open-Mindedness: Engage with diverse perspectives while maintaining respectful dialogue
  • Zero Tolerance: Hate speech, discrimination, or harassment of any kind is strictly prohibited
  • Commitment: Attend scheduled sessions and actively participate in program activities
  • Confidentiality: Respect the privacy of fellow participants and maintain confidentiality

2.3 Attendance Requirements

To earn the Certificate of Distinguished Achievement, participants must:

  • Attend 7 out of 8 Video Calls
  • Attend 5 out of 6 Dialogue Sessions
  • Actively participate in Discord community activities

The 3-Strike Rule applies: Missing 3 consecutive sessions without notice may result in removal from the program.

3. Intellectual Property

3.1 Program Materials

All program materials, including but not limited to curriculum, resources, and content, are the intellectual property of Leaders of Tomorrow. Participants may use these materials solely for program purposes and may not distribute, reproduce, or share them without written permission.

3.2 Participant Content

By submitting content (essays, projects, cultural exchanges) to the program, you grant Leaders of Tomorrow a non-exclusive license to use, display, and share this content for program purposes, including promotional materials and alumni network activities.

3.3 Trademarks

"Leaders of Tomorrow," "LOT," and related logos and marks are trademarks of the organization. Unauthorized use is prohibited.

4. Limitation of Liability

Leaders of Tomorrow provides the program "as is" and makes no warranties, express or implied, regarding:

  • The availability or reliability of third-party platforms (Discord, Google Meet)
  • Internet connectivity or technical issues
  • Outcomes or results from program participation
  • Interactions between participants

Participants acknowledge that they participate at their own risk and that Leaders of Tomorrow is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from participation.

5. Program Modifications

Leaders of Tomorrow reserves the right to:

  • Modify program structure, content, or schedule
  • Cancel or postpone sessions due to technical issues or unforeseen circumstances
  • Remove participants who violate the Code of Conduct
  • Make changes to program requirements or policies

Participants will be notified of significant changes via email or Discord.

6. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from participation in the program will be resolved through:

  1. Internal Resolution: Contact the Program Manager or Program Officer to discuss concerns
  2. Mediation: If internal resolution is unsuccessful, parties agree to attempt mediation
  3. Governing Law: Disputes will be governed by the laws of Iraq, where our organization is based

7. Third-Party Services

Our program uses third-party platforms:

  • Discord: For community communication and cultural exchanges. Participants must comply with Discord's Terms of Service.
  • Google Meet: For video conferencing. Participants must comply with Google's Terms of Service.

Leaders of Tomorrow is not responsible for the policies, practices, or content of third-party services.

8. Participation Fees

There are participation costs to cover platform subscriptions, staff, and program operations. However, we are committed to accessibility and offer opportunities for those who cannot pay. Contact us at [email protected] to discuss financial assistance options.

9. Mini-Grants Program

Top-performing participants may be eligible to apply for Mini-Grants to fund community projects. Grant recipients are subject to additional terms and conditions, including project reporting requirements and use of funds.

10. Alumni Network

Upon program completion, participants may join our global alumni network. Alumni participation is voluntary and subject to separate terms. Alumni may be contacted for program feedback, networking opportunities, and future program support.

12. Changes to Legal Terms
